Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech)

24 hrs/wk varied days, 7P-7A, every 3rd weekend, every other holiday 

About Us:

Milford Regional Medical Center has one of the busiest emergency departments (ED) in central Massachusetts seeing approximately 55 thousand patients annually. In 2015 a new building was erected that allowed us to increase its size from 30 to 50 beds. The new design provides a safer environment for patients, includes family space to allow them to stay with their loved one and an improved working environment for staff.  Enhanced patient comfort in a welcoming environment, better efficiency with its own diagnostic radiology room, other state-of-the-art technologies, and specialized treatment areas for specific patient populations all support the delivery of high-quality care.

Statement of Purpose:
Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, the ED Technician assists thenursing staff in the care of patients.  The ED Tech is responsible for performing a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities as delegated by the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:
Education:  High School Diploma and/or equivalent

Certification / License:
Certification and/or license required  in one of the following areas of study:
(National) Nurse Aide Certification, Medical Assistant Certification, EMT/EMT-I. Or, in lieu of certification, an enrolled nursing student who has completed their first clinical rotation will be considered equivalent to a Nurse Aide Certification. Current CPR skills

Experience:
Previous experience in medical related field.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
