With over 300 primary care and specialty physicians on the medical staff, our physicians are skilled in the most advanced procedures and technology, and provide personalized patient care in a warm and caring environment.
A newly licensed nurse who are hired into this role will be eligible to participate in our Transition to Practice Orientation Program. Our Transition to Practice Orientation Program will assist NLNs to continue their professional growth and development under the guidance of both our nursing education and leadership teams.
We require NLNs to commit to 32-40 hours/wk for the first four weeksof orientation depending on the area of practice. Beginning in the first 3 months and extending beyond, NLNs will complete specialized courses in dysrhythmia interpretation, acute care nursing, and as appropriate to the specialty, advanced life support (ACLS), pediatric life support (PALS) and neonatal resuscitation (NRP).
In addition, two other key components of our program include:
Clinical Connections - Each NLN will have a Staff Education advisor assigned to them for periodic check-ins in clinical practice.
Professional Development Days – All NLNs will gather together on a monthly basis for a day of networking, emotional support, team building and to address topics essential to continued growth and development. A sample of topics includes: wound/skin care, end of life care, oxygen delivery systems, time management, diversity in healthcare, patient & family communications and service recovery.
Statement of Purpose:
The Registered Nurse maintains responsibility for the provision of professional nursing care demonstrated through the nursing process involving assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse must demonstrate a competent level of behavior in a professional role, including activities related to promotion of quality of care, performance appraisal, education, collegiality, ethics, collaboration, research and resource utilization (Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice - ANA, 2010).
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Experience: Licensed graduate. Experience preferred.
Certification / License: Current RN Licensure in Massachusetts-Current CPR skills
MRMC Differentials:
Hospital differentials are: $3.50 hourly for evenings, $4.75 hourly for nights, and $2.75 hourly for weekends. All differentials are paid based per hospital policy.
