Statement of Purpose:
Reporting to the Patient Safety Assistant Supervisor of Behavioral Security, the Patient Safety Assistant supports in the care of patients; with the focus on maintaining the safety of patients at risk of harm to self or others by obtaining MOAB training and utilizing therapeutic skills in order to prevent escalation of patients and promote well being.As a member of the healthcare team, PSA's may perform a variety of non-clinical duties to ensure that patients and visitors are provided with services that reflect the hospital commitment to a safe, secure and customer-focused environment. Responsibilities include interaction with occasionally physically aggressive patients and acts collaboratively with security, nursing and medical staff.
Education: High School diploma required.Ability to read, write and speak English and basic computer skills required. Bachelors degree in Psychology or related field preferred.
Certification / License: Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification.MOAB Certification
Experience: Direct experience in caring for Behavioral Health patients desired.
