Statement of Purpose:
The HVAC/R Mechanic III position installs heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including related fixtures; checking heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment for malfunctions; maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment; and perform related work as required and necessary for building operations.
1. Education: High School Diploma required
2. Certification / License:
a.A current and valid Massachusetts Drives License is required.
b.EPA 608 Certification – Universal required
c.Building Operator Certification – Level 1 desired
Applicants must have at least five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time technical experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, or the equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Knowledge of the standard preventive maintenance procedures for heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, refrigeration, and related electrical systems.
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures followed in the installation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning
Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications, operation manuals and blueprints.
Skilled in the use of electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters, amp-probes, etc.
Knowledge and experience in the use, and control of Computerized Building Automation Systems.
Hospital differentials are: $3.50 hourly for evenings, $4.75 hourly for nights, and $2.75 hourly for weekends. All differentials are paid based per hospital policy.
